Myth No. 2: It is not recommended to wear any bra for a certain period of time after the surgery.

Fact: Support is very important after augmentation, mastopexy or breast reconstruction for your breasts. These procedures are a significant intervention for your breasts and it takes some time before the result of the procedure is final. Because of this, it is necessary to provide your breasts with greatest amount of care possible for some time. The way we do this is by wearing postoperative underwear which has been specially designed for this purpose. After augmentation the body creates a capsule for several days around the implant, which means that the surrounding tissue grows around the implants. Because of this, it is necessary to wear a compression bra for this period of time. Not wearing a compression post-surgical bra may result in the implant moving or the tissue, weakened after the surgery, may droop, causing significant asymmetry and therefore a non-desirable result.
